These standing stones  are magical.
It's believed that the Stones where first put up from 2900 to  2600 BC, that makes them nearly 5000 years old.

One theory is that the stones are aligned to the setting of the  moon in Mid summer but no one really seems to know.
The miracle is that they have stood on the Isle of  Lewis for thousands of years largely undamaged.
They look like a group of old men contemplating the nature of the universe.
From Amazon.co.uk
"First published in 1993, it is a gem of a book that is  as detailed as it is readable. If you have ever looked at a row of  megaliths and wondered, buy this book now."
Let it's mystery remain in the mists of time and just  soak in the spirits of the past.
