These fine Lapwing sculptures can be seen at the entrance to Conwy RSBP. In the British Isles this bird is called a lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) because it pretends to have a broken wing to lure predators away from its nest. In other places it is called a peewit, pewit, tuit or tew-it (because of its cry), green plover (because of its plumage). Wikipedia Below is a video from YouTube on a pair of Lapwings courting.
