The medieval age meets the modern agew with Conwy Castle in the background and one of the latest trains from Network Rail. The New Measurement Train or NMT has the job of making sure all the railway lines of the network are aligned and secured properly so it is safe to run trains on them. It’s meant to do this at speed, sometimes at 120mph and has been known to do 1000 miles of line checks in a day. 110000 miles of the mainline railway network are checked every two weeks.  Wikipedia
