Llywelyn the Great (c. 1172 – 11 April 1240) was a Prince of Gwynedd in north Wales and became de facto ruler over much of Wales. By a mixture of war and diplomacy he dominated Wales for 40 years. This statue is located in Lancaster Square at the centre of Conwy. Wikipedia
